Approach lights: classified into Center line approach light (a row of lights on the extended center line of the runway extending, whenever possible, no less than a designated distance from the runway threshold), approach crossbar (a row of lights forming a crossbar 18 m or 30 m in length at a distance of 150m or 300m from the runway threshold) and approach side light ( the light placed on each side of the center line, at a longitudinal spacing equal to that of the center line lights; The lateral spacing between the innermost lights of the side rows shall be not less than 18 m nor more than 22.5 m, and preferably 18 m, but in any event shall be equal to that of the touchdown zone lights).
